This post combines arguably two of my MOST favorite things. 1) Jo and I's highly anticipated annual wedding anniversary long weekend getaway and 2) the magically unique place of Seabrook Island, South Carolina. I simply cannot put into words how much I look forward to the dream-like and romance-filled time that surrounds Memorial day weekend. This year marked that we had made it to the big THREE! It seems like just yesterday we made our vows, exchanged rings and embraced as husband and wife under the scenic live oaks at a family home in Beaufort, North Carolina (you can check out the full wedding post here). Time has certainly flown by, every day seeming more blessed than the last. We are so fortunate to have been married at a place that we are able to go back to whenever we want. So, for the first two anniversaries that's exactly what we did. True secluded perfection, let me tell you! This year however, we decided to switch it up and head to the Low Country for a couple of days. I had been to Seabrook Island outside of Charleston, South Carolina only once and was instantly mesmerized by it's quaint, perfectly natural scenery, along with its community atmosphere. It had been a place I had wanted to bring Jo for years. So, we rented a wonderful condo overlooking the golf course, loaded our bags and borrowed bikes into the truck and hit the road. We seriously could NOT have asked for a more wonderful stay during our time at Seabrook. Even as I'm writing this I'm getting flutters inside just thinking about the blissful happiness that seemed to engulf our time there. I had to document it, even if it is only a few pictures. Enjoy! May 26-29, 2017 Our Humble Abode, The High Hammock Villas. As we mentioned above this condo was the perfect spot to center our weekend around. Similar places can be found on both HomeAway and AirBnB. Keep in mind there are no hotels on the island so private rentals are the ticket for this paradise retreat. Sunrises. Are. A. Must! We are such suckers for a good sunrise so our first morning there we set our alarms and rolled out of bed in time to witness the painted sky on the North Beach. Surprise Air Show? Freshfields Village A visit to Seabrook is not complete without a trip to Freshfields Village. Whether it's to stock up on groceries from the Village Market, or to set up shop outside Java Java while reading the Post and Courier over a cup of joe. Freshfields is a place with a tradition feel and while it may have expanded every time we visited, it still retains the same welcoming, lively, community we love it for. The Beach Seabrook Island is home to some of the longest, and most remote beaches of the Carolinas. Even on a busy holiday weekend, like Memorial Day, we were still able to have our deserted area of the beach for just the two of us. Wildlife Seabrook Island is home to a full array of wildlife. From alligators to turkeys to deer to migratory birds if you are patient and ask where to go, you can catch them all here. A perfect place for bike riding Fine Dining We preferred the quiet view from the back porch of our Condo. However, Seabrook Island offers a variety of both indoor and outdoor dining options. Check out the Discover Seabrook site for specifics. Natural scenes of the Low Country and Sunsets...... The Golfing Seabrook Island is also home to some of the best golfing in the Carolinas. Check out the Amenities available online for more information. We Hope You Enjoy Your Stay! We had such a magical experience on Seabrook Island. Pictures just can't do it justice. We hope you can visit and enjoy your time there as much as we did!

You've captured in words what we're lucky enough to witness everyday as full time residents. I remember seeing you two on the beach at sunrise as that noise crop duster made 8 passes over our heads. lol

We love Seabrook so much, we bought a house there, but before doing so, we stayed in that very same High Hammock Villa. Great memories.
